Barts Tree Service removing a two trunk oak tree with a heavy lean directly over a new carport. Unfortunatly many years ago the driveway was backfilled a couple feet around this tree so it had developed root rot and was just a matter of time before it crushed the carport and hit the house. Remember that a red oak log 30″ in diameter by 12″ long weighs 300lbs so just the trunk of this tree alone weighed 4 to 5 tons not to mention limb and leave weight so there is a good chance this tree is going all the way through the house. Thats why sometimes a smaller looking defect compounded by location, size and lean causes us to categorize it as a hazardous tree. On a lighter note the client was very happy to get rid of the 20 bushels of acorns he was blessed with annually in the driveway.
Removing this tree took a little longer than normal since we had to rig all the larger limbs with two ropes coming out of separate trees so as to keep all the material horizontal while lowering it away from carport and into the chipper.
