Moving Firewood Kills Trees
USDA has put together a great website for informing the public about how to help stop the spread of Emerald Ash Borer Beetle (EAB) which has already killed millions of trees. EAB has now made its way to the northeast and is threatening our already declining population of ash trees here in Connecticut.
One of the major ways in which EAB moves into new areas is by hitchhiking on firewood. So please do not transport firewood more than 50 miles from its source.
